St Catherine

The Saint-Catherine and Saint-Gery neighborhood are the liveliest in Brussels.

The Saint-Géry halls are the main attraction. It used to be a chicken market, but it is now full of bars and restaurants. It is one of the students' favorite place to go out. The Antoine Dansaert street is very characteristic of this neighborhood in transition. Innovative clothes designers and alternative artists have their shops around there.

The Saint-Catherine square has preserved the trace of its maritime past, as it used to be Brussels port. It is surrounded with fish restaurants. A nice market, where you can find fresh fruits and vegetables, takes place everyday.

Furthermore, the square is located nearby the Rue Neuve, which is Brussels biggest shopping street. You can find any shop you want there. The Rue Neuve is on the route to Saint-Louis.
